Rev. Clarence Larkin (1850–1924) was an American Baptist pastor, Bible teacher and author whose writings on Dispensationalism had a great impact on conservative Protestant visual culture in the 20th century. His intricate and influential charts provided readers with a visual strategy for mapping God's action in history and for interpreting complex biblical prophecies. Larkin, a kind and gentle man, deplored the tendency of writers to say uncharitable things about each other, so he earnestly sought to avoid criticisms and to satisfy himself with simply presenting his understanding of the Scriptures. During the last five years of his life, the demand for Larkin's books made it necessary for him to give up the pastorate and devote his full time to writing. He died on January 24, 1924.
Larkin was one of the most widely influential thinkers on end-times prophecies of the early 20th century, and his writings remain vital to appreciating the apocalyptic Christian thought that today enjoys widespread popularity. Larkin wrote The Book of Revelation, which serves as a study guide for the Book of Revelation, the Bible's prophetic final chapter. Larkin explains the concepts of the Beast and the False Prophet, the Seven Seals and the Seven Trumpets, and the importance of the Book of Daniel in understanding the Rapture. Charts and illustrations depict the "Pale Horse Rider," "Daniel's Four Wild Beasts," "Egyptian Plagues Compared," and more.

I have read much of Larkin’s works and I’m always in awe at the way he explains the Bible. He writes more in story form. It’s not a very hard to readbook. As well as all his other writings, this one was hard to put down. He has a way of making the scriptures come alive with such clarity.
People of all ages that want to learn more about and study the book of The Revelation should just get on this right away.

I believe this is the best explanation of the Book of Revelation I have ever read, the late Rev. Clarence Larkin is simply a genius and with the charts it so easy to get a better knowledge this book. Thanks.
Extremely disappointing purchase. The paperback by CreateSpace Publications omits the 30+ charts that are in the original and other editions. Clarence Larkin is famous for his detailed charts! gave me a full refund and didn't require me to return the book. Now it just sits on my shelf but I have no use for it.
Larkin goes into great detail describing the events, purpose, and conclusions recorded in the Revelation. A very thought provocative read. The school of futurism, which reveals the events of pre tribulation and premillennialism is the premise. A great reference book for end time prophesy studies.
Be prepared to think. I am looking at some things differently now. I am not a person who changes opinions based on the most recent book I have read. I do challenge myself to grow and to take a fresh look at how others interpret Revelation. I will definitely be searching the scriptures with my eyes open to what Clarence Larkin has said. Even if I disagree, he has made me take another look, and I have still learned.
You won't find another book on Bible Prophecy like this one, except maybe for other books written by Larkin, like The Book of Daniel. Written from the dispensationalist viewpoint and published in the early 1900's, Larkin completely blows away the wish-washy emptiness of most of today's modern lessons on the meaning of the book of Revelation. "Time is the daughter of truth" and due to the passage of time you may find that Larkin was probably not 100% correct on all of his explanations and deductions, but the book is a spirit-filled achievement in biblical interpretation that will probably have no equal.

The book of Revelation is one of the most difficult books to study let alone teach it. Many groups shy away from eschatology but this book provides a good interpretation which will lay the foundation of the teachings I plan to prepare for my Bible study group. The 2004 edition contains charts which will help simplify my teachings. The print is small throughout but it contains a detailed look at all the events of the end times.
