Practice Power Secrets to Practicing and Playing Amazing Guitar edition by Dan Green Arts Photography eBooks
I picked this one up at no charge while browsing guitar self study books and, now that I have read it, I'm glad I did...on both counts. The author outlines ways you can maximize your practice time while minimizing wasted effort. He stresses warming up, slowing down and concentrating on specific aspects of your practice routine to help you attain your goals. The idea that you can put in a lot of time and still have unsatisfactory results hit me right in the gut. I am looking forward to putting these concepts into action in my future practice sessions and gaining ground with less wasted time and effort.

Practice Power Secrets to Practicing and Playing Amazing Guitar edition by Dan Green Arts Photography eBooks Reviews
Not the greatest instruction book on the planet, but handy to check into from time to time. It's just OK
I have been playing guitar for over 10 years and feel like I am an immediate level self-taught player. After reading Practice Power I have been able to open my mind up and focus on areas of my playing that I felt needed improvement because I have been in a rut. For me, the book has allowed me to rethink what and how I practice.
This is mainly an information read for practicing and getting the most from your practice which will lead to better playing. This is not a book that will be full of tab showing you what to practice however, there are some links throughout the book that will take you to other information sites.
This book is great! If you have friends that have been playing for a little while or are just beginning, this book is the guitar teacher! Keep it coming Purple Tiger!
I am trying to learn the guitar and wasn't sure how to start. Like he's says there is a ton of stuff on the internet. I know a few basic chords and notes then I just got stuck. This book is very informative now I know how to organize my study and learn the right way and have fun and not be discouraged.
This is a well-written, easy to read booklet that helps each individual, beginners and more advanced guitarists alike, experiment with and determine which styles of practice and techniques work best for himself/herself. It's always helpful when an experienced musician and teacher shares what he's learned over the years. While the book is short, it's a good road map to spending your practice time wisely, avoiding timesucking exercises, and getting you to your goal faster.
I hate to write a poor review. Kudos to anyone who gets a book out there. My husband loves to play guitar and learn new stuff. This was free and so he tried it. He said it just didn't give him anything that he would pay money for. He does say read all the reviews and take a look at the free look inside and decide for yourself.
It's not often I read books to learn how to play an instrument but this one was the right choice. I enjoyed learning from a pro on how to not become bored or stuck at any point during my practice time. Learning to instill good habits at the beginning keeping a regular schedule in gauging my progress are all great reasons to stay with this book. I believe I'm a better player for it and we'll be looking for more title from this off.
Cheers.
